Traveller in the world of monkeys in Ubud

Getting to Ubud Monkey Forest- in Bali is a must! Visitors from all over the world come for a unique experience, after which they have no regrets. Now, honestly, look at these furballs and tell me you wouldn't want to feed them !?

This wildlife sanctuary is found in Padangtegal and covers 12.5 hectares. If you are in Ubud, then it is the perfect time to visit it. Apart from the approximately 700 monkeys, you will see over 186 species of trees, which will allow you to take a breath of fresh air. Ubud Monkey Forest is open daily between 8:30 AM - 6 PM, and the entry price is 80,000 Indonesian rupees (approx. $ 6) / adult, 60,000 Indonesian rupees (approx. $ 4.50) / child. Don't forget to buy bananas from the stall you find near the ticket office. Have 45,000 rupees ready (approx. $ 3.25).

The natural reservation is considered sacred. In the forest, there are 3 Hindu temples: Pura Dalem Agung (Main Temple), Pura Beji (Beji Temple) and Pura Prajapati (Prajapati Temple). From the information found in the Holy Book (Pure Purana) - made from coconut leaves, it turns out that these temples were built in the middle of the 14th century.

Once you get here, let yourself be enchanted by the monkeys around you. Whether they are too lazy to pamper you, too busy to feel your presence, or like the most accomplished acrobats, they will surely manage to make you laugh out loud or make you stay open-mouthed most of the time. I admit we were attracted to them from the beginning. We followed them everywhere and we enjoyed every moment. We tried to get in the game, without disturbing them. I fed them with bananas and captured them in photos, in the most natural way possible.

When they were carrying their babies or feeding them, the show was perfect. The story unfolded beyond words and brought with it an amalgam of feelings and experiences. When a monkey jumped on my backpack, I couldn't say a word. I waited to hold my breath and let her take the object she had come after. Although I didn't realize what I had revealed, because I knew it was advisable not to have food or other objects that would make them crouch over you, I saw it with the tail of the eye when she searched in a side pocket. In an instant, she ran away with a sachet of sugar from the coffee I sipped before entering the reservation. I breathed relief and ... why lie ?! I enjoyed what happened to me.

What to know when you get to Ubud Monkey Forest:

Do not panic!

Do not look in the eyes of a monkey!

Do not hide food!

Do not run!

Do not touch the monkeys (even if it is extremely difficult to overcome this desire)

Do not disturb them especially if they have babies, they can become extremely aggressive!
